Variegated (Cytoplasmic) Standard 1-28

Sold in packs of 100 seeds.

Interspersed large to very small white and green sectors of cells throughout the plant.  Variable expression of variegation is visible throughout plant growth and development.  

(Var) is inherited uniparentally throughout the egg.   Expression appears to result from variation in number or normal and abnormal plastids that segregate with somatic cell division.  Large white sectors are thought to originate from cell lineages having a high proportion of abnormal plastids early in tissue development.

This stock was selected and bred from a naturally occurring mutant in an early line of anthocyanin selection in 1-34.
