Anthocyaninless Dwarf 1-74

The plants in 1-74 exhibit a clear green coloration, with no presence of purple pigment (anthocyanin) on stems, leaves, or other plant parts, including the seed coat. 

In the dwarf genetic background, leaves, stems, and flowers are reduced in size. The plants are essentially hairless, corresponding to the Hir (1) phenotype. 

The seed coats are shades of yellow, contrasting with the shades of brown typically observed in wild-type plants. The genetic background of 1-108 is selected for moderately high expression of purple anthocyanin, Pan (8).

This stock was selected and bred from the male-fertile plants of stock 1-65. These plants have undergone mass pollination for at least two generations, during which male-sterile plants were systematically removed. Consequently, 1-74 is genetically similar to 1-65, but it contains fewer than 15% of plants with the genotype Mst2, mst2/mst2.
